After a delayed start, Moortown got their season under way with a victory at home to Urney on Saturday evening. Urney started the better of the two teams scoring 4 points without reply. Moortown gradually got to grips with them but found themselves 5-4 down at the break.
A different Moortown side emerged for the second half and, due to a good work rate in all areas of the field, they raced into a 4 point lead. Urney pushed hard for a goal in the final ten minutes but rock-solid defending saw Moortown get the win. Final score 0-12 - 0-8. Next up is Loughmacrory, away, on Sunday in what should be an exciting encounter. Throw-in 2.15pm & 3.45pm.
