After a delayed start, Moortown got their season under way with a victory at home to Urney on Saturday evening. Urney started the better of the two teams scoring 4 points without reply. Moortown gradually got to grips with them but found themselves 5-4 down at the break. A different Moortown side emerged for the second half and, due to a good work rate in all areas of the field, they raced into a 4 point lead. Urney pushed hard for a goal in the final ten minutes but rock-solid defending saw Moortown get the win. Final score 0-12 - 0-8. Next up is Loughmacrory, away, on Sunday in what should be an exciting encounter. Throw-in 2.15pm & 3.45pm.

Moortown club wish Urney senior player Marcus Kelly a speedy recovery following the injury he sustained at the start of the league game against Moortown on the previous weekend. The game was called off by the referee following the incident and was rescheduled for Saturday past.
